In November 1994 while at a typical weekend dinner at my parents', my father started describing an event his Rotary club was planning called a "street painting festival". All sorts of images popped into my head, but none including pastel chalk! After sharing more details about the festival, he asked me to participate by being the volunteer artist for the square he had sponsored. My response:   "Dad, I got a D in pastels in college!"

Well, despite my near fail in my college years, I decided to accept the challenge and I won "Best of Show - Fine Art" in the 1 st Annual Rotary Orlando Street Painting Festival. Besides the award, I had found an art form I absolutely loved and decided to market street painting for special events and special occasions. I added the service "CHALK IT UP" to my already established design studio.
